About A Second Home

A Second Home B and B was built in 1910 on Second Avenue, two blocks north of downtown, in the prime residential area of the community. It is believed to have been built by Mayer Rotstein, who owned and operated a general store on Betts Avenue, and later on Broadway. He also also owned several other homes and commercial buildings.

Tax records show that the following owned the home through the years, with the date indicating the start of ownership:

  • Mayer Rotstein, 1910
  • Bessie Rotstein (Mayer's wife), February 1949
  • Mary Budzinski, May 1959
  • Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zepp, September 1961
  • Mr. and Mrs. James Leddy, April 1965
  • Yorkton Television Co. Ltd., April 1966
  • George and Lorraine Arnold, June 1969
  • Dwayne and Marie Turcotte, 2009

Dwayne and Marie are a young, vibrant couple. Dwayne is employed with the Government of Saskatchewan, and Marie is a Registered Nurse at Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

Both Dwayne and Marie enjoy travelling and meeting new people. Last year they went on their first medical missions trip to Sierra Leone, West Africa. They plan on going to Peru in November.

In their leisure time both enjoy cruising on their motorcycles, and are active members of the Tae Kwon Do club in Yorkton.
